The following notes were provided by daughter, Peggy, re Ivus & Mildred in 1987 --
Mildred had worked on the family tree for several years. One day she got a letter from Bess Bowen in Westminster, SC, who had heard we might be connected with her Maretts; and we really were.
Mildred loved to quilt; she loved to look at pretty quilts. She and ehr daughter Peggy would drive miles to quilt shows. When she died, she had a collection of ten quilts finshed, and several she had pieced. She would go shopping and always cam home with a piece of cloth to go in a quilt.
She also loved flowers. At one time she had an acre or more of cannas. She had beds of day lilies and iris. She collected bells.
Mildred worked hard to get the genealogy of Dean S. Maret together for Bess.
Ifus was a farmer, now retired. He and Mildred worked hard to raise their family. They both went to bublic work and built their Social Security. They retired at age 62 and enjoyed the last ten years before she died making the garden and visiting friends and relatives. Ivus kept a herd of cattle and went to sales. | Family: F3039
